Jake is 17 and in sixth form. He is beginning his preparation for leaving school and becoming a more indepdenent adult and has been enjoying work experience at our village shop.
Each week Jake helps out with a range of tasks and responsibilities including unloading stock, pricing and organising new items. His is great at serving customers and he loves using the till and card machine. Jake says “ I like working at the shop because it is good, I love it and it makes me feel happy. The jobs I like best are packing shelves, serving customers and using the pricing gun” Customers have commented on how helpful and polite he is. It has really helped Jake’s confidence, maturity and his understanding of money and the value of things. We are so grateful for the support the shop manager, school and Lucy Clark as well as all our local community have given us to make Jake’s work experience a success. It also gives him a great foundation in retail skills as he looks to attend college after leaving school. We are so proud of you Jake – Well done!!
